POSITION: ADJUNCT AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR - Barrow Campus
REPORTS TO: Dean of Applied Technology and Transportation
SALARY: Targeted salary is paid in a lump sum based on contact hours
Adjunct faculty responsibilities are centered on preparing and teaching classes as assigned:
Provides instruction in automotive technology for all assigned students.
Demonstrates the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures, including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping requirements.
Demonstrates knowledge of current procedures in automotive technology.
Follows approved curriculum standards and course syllabi. Monitors student use of supplies, materials, and equipment.
Maintains classrooms and laboratories in accordance with approved classroom and lab management plans.
Observes and enforces the institution's policies and regulations
Meets ALL required deadlines;
Meets with students, staff members, supervisors as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree in Automotive Technology or a closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university.ASE Master and L1-certified certifications are required.
Ability to work flexible hours, including possible evening hours
Ability to participate in appropriate staff development and campus activities
Ability to work well in the classroom and supervising students in laboratory settings
Ability to direct and assess students' progress in achieving required competencies
Ability to handle administrative responsibilities related to teaching of courses, data collection, and reporting for accreditation agencies and the College.
Have a positive attitude, and strong organizational and interpersonal skills
NOTE: Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment that are appointed on a per-academic-term basis.
