Job Summary:

The Physics and Astronomy Department at Barnard College seeks a part-time instructor to teach BC 1753 Life in the Universe during the Spring semester.

Job Description:

Teach Spring semester Astronomy lecture course Life in the Universe, a broad introductory Astronomy course for students across the university. Hold weekly office hours. Find TA's. Grade exams and assign final grades.

The exact instructional assignments and other academic responsibilities are determined by the Chair or Director.

Strong candidate already identified.

Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:

Required Qualifications: PhD Physics required

Required Skills: Excellent pedagogical skills, ability to work well with students.

Required Experience: 2 years of prior teaching experience.

Salary: $12,500 for this course

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
