What you'll do...

  • Lead design and release, selection, and validation of adhesive materials for thermal runaway (i.e., Cell Vent Management) for HV battery environment.

  • Collaborate with battery pack component engineers and adhesive suppliers to identify adhesive formulations, application techniques, and bonding processes that deliver battery mechanical, electrical and thermal requirements with Cell Vent Management components (i.e., mica, high temp plastics, insulative materials, etc.)

  • Collaborate with CVM engineers to specify PIA adhesive joints

  • Collaborate with battery unit engineers to design and release adhesive joints

  • Lead adhesive interface validation via CAE analysis and physical testing to ensure that adhesive interfaces meet design (structural, NVH, thermal, etc) and mass production battery pack assembly requirements.

  • Collaborate with battery manufacturing teams to optimize bonding processes, including surface preparation, curing, and quality control.

  • Release and develop adhesive foundational documentation

  • Build relationships and knowledgebase around adhesives with supply-base and benchmarking.
