Job Title: Art and Design College Accelerator Program, Community Engagement Specialist
Job Description: The Community Engagement Specialist plays a crucial role in fostering community engagement, expanding program exposure, and advocating for the benefits of art education. This role involves collaborating with schools, building partnerships, and working closely with students, families, and community stakeholders. The primary focus is on promoting the program, supporting student development, and enhancing community participation. Key Responsibilities
School Engagement:
Collaborate with local schools to introduce ADCAP to increasing program exposure and recruitment.
Establish strong relationships with educators and administrators to encourage participation and support for the Program
Develop and implement strategies to increase awareness of the art education program within the community.
Oversee the recruitment process, including conducting interviews, assessing applicants, and selecting qualified participants.
Ensure a diverse and inclusive student body.
Community Outreach:
Organize community events, workshops, and information sessions to promote the program and engage the community.
Work with community organizations to facilitate outreach efforts and expand the program's reach.
Building Community Partnerships: Identify and cultivate partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, and other organizations that can support the program.
Collaborate with partners to create opportunities for students and promote the program's mission.
Engage with local policymakers and stakeholders to influence decisions that support art education.
Student and Family Outreach:
Assist the coordinator with maintaining open and effective communication channels with students and their families to discuss the potential of art as a career path.
Provide guidance and resources to students and their families on art-related opportunities.
Plan and execute community events, outreach campaigns, and initiatives to connect with potential program participants.
Assist the Program Coordinator with fostering collaboration between parents, teachers, and students.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma,
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of art education and its benefits.
Experience in community outreach, program coordination, and partnership building.
Ability to work with a diverse range of stakeholders, including students, families, educators, and community organizations.
