Seasonal Adaptive Sports Tech - Cape Cod Area
Spaulding Adaptive Sports centers (SASC) provides children and adults of all levels of ability the opportunity to live active, healthy lives through participation in a variety of adaptive sports and recreational activities. A variety of land and water activities are offered in both individual and group settings. Spaulding Clinicians and Adaptive Sports professionals help choose activities and make adaptations to meet the capabilities and goals of each individual.
SASC adaptive sports programs are offered on Cape Cod, Boston and the North Shore. The Adaptive Sports Tech position is directly overseen by a Regional Coordinator in each region.
Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of the SASC Regional coordinator, assists operationally and programmatically with adaptive sport and recreation programs for participants of all ages and functional abilities
Reviews participant intakes to determine program/participant equipment needs. Communicate with SASC staff and participants directly as needed for needed information.
Prepares, monitors, and maintains facilities and equipment for programs, including setup and clean up, ensuring facility and equipment is left in a clean and orderly fashion, enforcing rules and regulations to promote safe activity, and ensuring facility and equipment is secured and ready for use for future program needs;
Keeps immediate supervisor and designated others accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work problems and suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing such problems;
Responds to participants' questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner;
Performs other directly related duties consistent with the role and function of the job requirements;
Loads and drives Spaulding vehicles and trailers to various locations of programming;

Licensure/Certification
Required:
Valid driver's license with no driving violations
American Red Cross or American Heart Association First Aid, CPR, AED
Preferred:
Certified Adaptive Recreation and Sports Specialist (CARRS)
Certified Inclusive Fitness Trainer (CIFT)
Lifeguard
Advanced Paddling Workshop (APW)
American Canoe Association Courses
Skills (Specific learned activity gained through training (e.g. computer skills, keyboarding, presentation, CPR, ACLS, etc.)
Required:
Knowledge of adaptive sport basics and ability to gain an understanding of the SASC programming
Demonstrate an ability to attain knowledge of adaptive sports equipment.
Solid organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
Will participate in training to gain an understanding of general disability awareness in order to assist with participant's individual needs
Demonstrates a positive, professional demeanor
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to work with participants of all ages and level of abilities from pediatric to geriatric
Travel required as necessary
Willingness to drive Spaulding vehicles and tow equipment to offsite locations as necessary
Preferred:
Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills, working with diverse population.
Work independently, be self-directed and contribute as a member of a team.
High level of service delivery. Demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and adapt to changing situations.
