What you'll be doing...
When employees need special accommodations to perform their jobs, you'll be there to assist.
Your role will be to help create a safe and productive environment and working experience for all employees. You'll evaluate and figure out the best ways to support employees when they request accommodations, which can range from reconfiguring physical space to adjusting working hours. By finding solutions that meet the needs of our employees, you'll be helping ensure that we create an environment where everyone can contribute their best workand help us build the future. Responsibilities include:
Reviewing accommodation requests pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, assessing employee accommodation needs and making accommodation plans.
Gathering supporting information, including medical data, for documentation.
Conducting interactive dialogues with employees in order to assess their needs.
Coordinating medical review by the disability Vendor, Sedgwick.
Ensuring that both the business and employees' needs are met.
Evaluating restrictions and accommodations to make sure they comply with policy and any bargaining agreements.
Drafting correspondence to employees ensuring the outcome of their accommodation requests are outlined clearly.
Manage bargained for restriction plan cases, including
Timely placement on the plan;
Timely correspondence and dialogues with employees;
Medical validation follow ups;
Coordinating with the Staffing Team for permanent placement opportunities;
Coordinating leave of absence and terminations in compliance with the terms of the plan; and
Conducting periodic reviewof permanent restrictions for next steps.
Working closely with internal stakeholders such as the line of business, legal, labor and HR in order to make decisions pertaining to employee accommodation requests.
Working closely with our adaptive technology vendor where necessary.
Representing the company in arbitrations and trials on occasion.
Works daily with sensitive and confidential matters.
Has experience with current statutes, regulations and guidance issued by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) pertaining to ADA accommodations

You're a strong problem solver with sound judgment and a nuanced understanding of "gray" areas. With compassion and empathy, you listen and weigh matters from all perspectives --carefully balancing the individual, company, and compliance needs. You're a great communicator, skilled at negotiation and conflict resolution, and you're comfortable navigating legal matters. By staying organized, you can juggle multiple projects and execute in a timely fashion. You appreciate the sensitive and confidential nature of your case work and handle it with care.
You'll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience with the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) and FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act).
Even better if you have:
A law degree. Ideally, if you've practiced.
Advanced degree. Ideally, in human resources management.
Experience with current statutes, regulations and guidance issued by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) pertaining to ADA accommodations.
Familiarity with collectively bargained medical restriction plans, ADA case law, or CBAs and bargained for plan documents that provide uniform treatment for employees.
AMTS/PeopleSoft (or other case management tools) experience.
Job Accommodation Network (JAN) programs or computer/electronic accommodations experience.
