We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Night ICU Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Intensive Care Unit team. The ideal candidate will have advanced clinical skills, a compassionate approach, and the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment. This position involves providing comprehensive care to critically ill patients during the night shift, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Assessment and Management: Conduct thorough assessments of critically ill patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, and adjust treatments as needed.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions between shifts.

  • Procedures and Interventions: Assist with advanced procedures such as intubations, central line placements, and arterial line insertions.

  • Medication Management: Prescribe and manage medications, including titration of critical care medications and initiation of emergency protocols.

  • Monitoring and Documentation: Continuously monitor patient status, interpret diagnostic tests, and maintain accurate and detailed medical records.

  • Patient and Family Education: Provide education and support to patients and their families, addressing concerns and promoting understanding of care plans and prognoses.

  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices in critical care.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or accredited Physician Assistant program.

  • Licensure: Current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the state of Louisiana.

  • Certification: Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Critical Care Nurse Practitioner (CCNP) preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a critical care setting as an NP/PA or RN, with demonstrated competence in managing critically ill patients.

Skills: Proficiency in advanced clinical procedures, excellent communication skills, strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently during night shifts.

Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification from American Heart Association required; CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification preferred.

Full-time hours are 7on, 7 off Night shifts - Rotating Weekends
