Reporting directly to the Practice Manager of the General Surgery department, as well as the Acute Care Medical Director, this position will maintain the Acute Care Registry Database and ensure adherence to data management protocols in compliance with regulatory standards. Works in collaboration with the Trauma and Acute Care Surgical Services (TACSS) program leadership to improve the quality of acute are, encompassing the areas and disciplines of the hospital environment that participate in the management of the acutely ill patient.
Provides oversight and direction for of all performance improvement activities, documentation of performance improvement opportunities and staff education. Assist TACSS team in data collection, report running for the registry database, data analysis, trending, submission of data as required, and benchmarking of data outcomes. The position is responsible for communicating report findings to others throughout the organization, including recommendations for improvements and focused studies.
The incumbent will represent Concord Hospital at a variety of internal and external meetings. Collaborates closely with leadership to ensure compliance with all State of New Hampshire statutes and the American College of Surgeons standards related to performance improvement. Participates in regional, state and national performance improvement activities. Provides technical data support preparing reports, handling information requests and accurate data entry.
This resource will be heavily involved in data analytics, including the entry and extraction of data, as well as usage of our Electronic Health Record system (Cerner). This is a 30 hour per week, part time opening - benefits eligible. Flexible schedule can be negotiated. Must be able to build relationships with providers, as well as work closely with other members of the analytics team/department.
BSN required - Masters in Nursing or business related field preferred.
Certification, Registration, and Licensure
Required Upon Hire: Current State of NH RN license.
Chart auditing / data extrapolating experience required. Experience with coding highly preferred.
Collects, codes and maintains data pertinent to Acute Care Surgical Service.
Develops and maintains acute care registry program at Concord Hospital and reports out to key
stakeholders regarding the progress of the program.
Participates actively in quality improvement efforts.
Participates in and supports assigned department and hospital meetings and/or committees.
Establishes positive working relationships with providers, interdepartmental peers, on-site coder; and
practice leadership team. Demonstrates a high level of professionalism toward patients, providers, staff, peers and administrators, reflective of Concord Hospital Service Behaviors. Accountable for effective and timely communication to providers, staff, administrators, and patients.
Works independently and within a team on special, nonrecurring and ongoing projects.
Coordinates multiple aspects of projects, events, and other complex activities.
