Over 1000 critically ill patients were admitted to the Penn Presbyterian MICU last year and has one of the highest acuity levels in the nation.
We provide ICU management for medically critically ill residents of West Philadelphia and serve as a resource for outside hospital referrals for the region, including providing care for Penn Lung Rescue (ECMO) patients.
To be successful, we need uniquely qualified leaders in Advanced Practice with the skill, experience, expertise and passion to fill these new and exciting roles in the expanded medical Critical Care Program at Penn Medicine. These ACNPs or PAs will be working with board certified intensivists, on multi-disciplinary ICU teams providing front line patient- and family-centered care for critically ill patients.
The Advanced Practitioners (APs) in the Medical Intensive Care Unit will function in collaboration with intensivists, nurses, Pharm-Ds and other health care professionals to diagnose, treat, and manage complex critical illness. These APs will also perform procedures as outlined in the privileging agreements (central lines, arterial lines, paracentesis, thoracentesis and Lumbar puncture).
