The Company

The Standard is a leading provider of financial products and services. These include group and individual disability insurance, group life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, group dental and vision insurance, absence management services, retirement plans products and services, individual annuities, and origination and servicing of fixed rate commercial mortgage loans.

Position Summary

In this highly visible and influential role within the new Actuarial Transformation Program Office under development within the Corporate Actuarial and Risk Management Division, you'll be instrumental in leading our actuarial transformation and change management efforts across our entire actuarial community and touching all of our businesses.

  • Shape our change strategy and facilitate conversations across business actuaries, including negotiating and driving decisions about program implementation, resource planning, and talent strategy for the future actuarial organization

  • Help drive change readiness and evangelize need for change through effective communication methods

  • Identify and build a network of key stakeholders, gathering input to inform both future state vision and successful program execution

  • Work with the program manager to oversee program execution and ensure solutions meet business objectives

  • Partner and provide appropriate guidance to consultant partners/vendors to ensure effective leveraging of resources and drive to desired outcomes

Reporting Relationships

You'll report directly to the Transformation Program Leader, 2nd VP, Corporate Actuarial and Risk Management. You may have a direct report as the Transformation Program Office develops.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Advanced degree a plus

  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries {FSA} or equivalent non-US actuarial credential

  • 7-10 years of post-fellowship experience

  • Demonstrated ability to build strategies and be influential in change management efforts.

Qualifications Desired:

  • Six Sigma, Lean or other improvement or change methodology experienced.

  • Experience in one of our product line areas such as: group benefits, group life, individual annuities or retirement plans (401k) experience.

  • Experience of working in an International company, and exposure to non-US accounting practices

  • Experience and interest in networking and empowering leadership
