Actuarial Analyst II (Behavioral Health)

Preferred Work Location: Indianapolis, IN; Boston, MA; Virginia Beach, VA; Richmond, VA; Atlanta, GA; Louisville, KY; Mason, OH; St. Louis, MO; Waukesha, WI

Open to other locations for most qualified applicant

The Actuarial Analyst II completes projects and performs complex actuarial studies.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Obtains, verifies, analyzes and models data including risk reporting and forecasting.

  • Calculates monthly claims liability reserves, develops merit rating factors and prepares Department of Insurance annual statement exhibits.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Requires a BS/BA degree; required to have passed at least three Society of Actuaries (SOA); at least 1 year related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Proficient in Excel desired.

  • Healthcare experience with trend analysis desired.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: * Analyzes and implements risk contracts including conducting experience analyses, pricing, filing and settlement work; and prepares management reports supporting new capitation initiatives. * Assists in training of actuarial trainees, analysts and specialists. * Coordinates/directs special actuarial projects. Qualifications Qualifications: * Requires a BS/BA degree; required to have passed at least four Society of Actuaries (SOA) actuarial exams; at least 3 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. * Proficient in Excel required. * Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software is desired. * Healthcare experience with trend analysis highly desired. * Ability to manipulate sets of data preferred.
