Actuarial Operations

Responsible for pricing, risk management, reserving, forecasting, trend setting and actuarial administration including conducting analysis, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting of the effectiveness of rating formula and participating in the development of new products.

Actuarial Analyst

Provides Actuarial department with pricing support, calculating reserves, risk assessment/analysis, data reporting, financial forecasting/projections, creating filings and/or performing financial and risk analysis in changes to provider contracts to help meet company goals of providing low-cost healthcare and meeting earnings objectives.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • May perform a combination of the following depending on discipline/dept.

  • Understands the core principles of decision analytics, with knowledge of the analytic tools and techniques that are used to acquire and analyze data for reporting and decision making used for decision analytics.

  • Can understand, update, and run programs that applies to decision analytic techniques.

  • Has gained a basic understanding of claim, premium, membership and/or risk score assignment data.

  • Learns various actuarial techniques and procedures to conduct analysis, assess risk and population risk scores and assignment, develop pricing and trends, assess changes in benefit designs, develop reserves, perform forecasting, analyze provider reimbursement terms and/or evaluates actuarial risk related analysis.

  • Compiles and categorizes data, documenting and verifying the factors used in computations such as those used in evaluating loss and expense reserves, preparing rate filings, schedules of statistics, premiums, benefits, member risk data and score submissions and establishing rating and pricing levels.

  • Produces timely various standard analytic reports for internal and/or external use. Other duties as assigned.

  • Requires BS degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science or related discipline and/or equivalent business experience.

  • Typically, has completed 1 to 2 courses towards the eventual attainment of the Associate, Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation.

  • No previous professional actuarial experience required but typically has obtained broad theoretical job knowledge through advanced education.

Controls the efficient flow of goods, services, and information between point of origin through customer placement in order to meet customer requirements. Ensures that customer service and time objectives are achieved within existing financial constraints in order to meet marketing and financial objectives. Ensures the execution and continuous improvement of standard logistics processes, such as the replenishment system, data interchange systems, demand management, electronic data systems administration and related functions. Builds relationships with strategic customers through logistics initiatives. Integrates learning from customers, competitors, operating entities, distribution, transportation, customer service, other industries, industry groups, and professional training to continuously improve competitive position. The LMA will primarily support the F/A-18 Production Program, as well as partially support the F/A-18 Conformal Fuel Tank (CFT) Program as required. Primary job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: * Assist with managing of Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) within the Windchill database * E-14.08 / E-14.09 Failure Report (FENR) documentation, management, status tracking, review, approval, and closure. * Actively track delinquent and open FENR's and report on status weekly * Participate in Supplier meetings and site-visits as required * Assist in Engineering Investigations as required * Assist with NGC & Supplier formal data item development and review * Collaborate with Boeing partner on developing maintenance advisory reports * Perform reliability & maintainability (R&M) prediction analysis as required Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree * 2 years of aircraft and/or equipment maintenance/engineering/operations experience OR 0 years with a Master's Degree * Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other computer programs Preferred Qualifications: * Aerospace Engineering Degree or equivalent technical experience * Works well in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment * Be willing to undertake additional technical training as necessary Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
