The primary purpose of your job position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Activity Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Administrator to assure that an on-going program of activities is designed to meet, in accordance with the comprehensive assessment, the interests and the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each resident.

  • Assume the authority, responsibility, and accountability of directing the activity department.

  • Develop and maintain an activity schedule.

  • Involve residents and families in planning facility activity programs.

  • Involve the resident/family in planning objectives and goals for the resident.

  • Interview residents or family members to obtain activity information.

  • Develop preliminary and comprehensive assessments of the activity needs of each resident.

  • Schedule movies, plan parties, and provide games/activities for residents.

  • Encourage residents to participate in hobbies and crafts. Provide materials as necessary.

  • Supervise activities as necessary.

  • Coordinate activities with other departments as necessary.

  • Assist bed residents by visiting with them, writing letters, running errands, making appointments, etc., as necessary.

  • Review nurses' notes to determine if the activity care plan is being followed. Report problem areas to the DONS.

  • Ensure that all charted activity progress notes are informative and descriptive of the services provided and of the resident's response to the service.

  • Review and develop a plan of correction for activity deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy of such report to the Administrator.

  • Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting such to the Administrator as required.

  • Others duties as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed by the Administrator.

Requirements

  • Certified Activity Director (NCCAP or state specific)

  • Preferred 2 years experience in long-term care

  • Knowledge in variety of activity approaches

  • Ability to assess resident moods and revise approach accordingly

  • Willingness to learn about areas that impact resident population, i.e. dementia

  • Enjoys working with diverse populations

VIEW JOBS 3/5/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-03T00:00 Description The primary purpose of your job position is to develop, coordinate, direct, and administer our facility's marketing program; to educate community, clients and families on skilled nursing services and rehab services available at Regent Care Centers; to identify, research, and secure referral sources; and to implement sales strategies that result in increased census. * Provide the community with information relative to our facility, its programs, services, and practices, marketing the company name and the quality of skilled nursing and rehab services. * Ensure that public information (brochures, information packets, etc.,) describing the services provided in the facility is accurate and fully descriptive and maintain adequate supply of printed materials. * Support and promote the philosophy, goals and objectives of the facility's marketing and public relations programs and activities. * Develop contact list of referral sources. * Maintain focused follow-up and consistency in meeting with referral sources. Build strong relationships with referral sources based on trust and knowledge. Remove barriers between facility and referral source to convert referral to admission. * Develop market analysis to determine competition and to identify viable referral sources. * Develop short-term and long-term goal-oriented sales strategy that includes specific contacts. * Maintain weekly activity list of contacts, referrals, admissions, and pending clients. * Develop, schedule and guide tours/personnel through the facility. * Participate in community service and civic groups to obtain information and seek support of these groups in charitable activities on behalf of the facility. * Plan and implement special events that serve to advance staff, resident, and community relations. * Develop key relationships with community leaders and build referral alliances. * Other duties as assigned by the Administrator. Requirements * A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university. * Must possess the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. * Experience in Long-Term Care Marketing is a plus!! * Nurses encouraged to apply. Clinical experience is a plus!! * Must possess a thorough knowledge of principles of effective communication, mass media, advertising, policies, education, community relations, demonstration, organization structure, social and activity services, government relations, etc., as they relate to nursing facility operations.
