WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

We are a state of the art, innovative Long Term Care facility providing Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living and Rehabilitation services with an outstanding career opportunity for an individual to work in our Life Enrichment Department (i.e. activities) as a Life Enrichment Associate (i.e. Activity Assistant). Our passion is creating Inspired Living environments for our residents and communities.

Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of an Activity Assistant:

  • Assist with the organizing, planning and implementation of programs and opportunities that promote resident well-being (identity, growth, autonomy, security, connectedness, meaning and joy)

  • Lead wellness programs that inspire spiritual, cognitive, social, physical and creative expressions

  • Enthusiastically promote and communicate programs and events to residents and families

  • Passionately motivate and serve residents of varying cognitive and physical abilities

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You would be a great fit for our team if you have the following:

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Position requires some weekends and evenings

  • Ability to work as part of a team and to take initiative

  • Experience working with seniors (including those with dementia) and activities in Long-Term Care/Healthcare is preferred

  • Must love the elderly and exhibit an energetic disposition

  • Must have valid drivers license and be able to transport residents in company bus/van

The Office Assistant will be responsible for assisting in general routine office duties including scheduling appointments and/or travel, greeting clients and visitors, answering phones and correspondence. Other general administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, document writing and proofreading and copying will also be required. The Office Assistant should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and any experience with Concur (or similar travel/expense program) and Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) is highly desired. The Office Assistant must be a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and is able to stay organized and multitask while meeting deadlines and assisting the office as a whole. Requirements• A High School diploma or equivalent is required at a minimum * An additional one to two (1-2) years of experience in a professional office assistant role is required * Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint * Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts * Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team * Must be able to multitask and support multiple projects * Familiarity with the JTR (Joint Travel Regulations) is desired SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: There is no security clearance required at this time, however candidates must be able to pass the UIC background check with favorable results.
