Peninsula Care & Rehabilitation Center is a 120-bed skilled nursing facility located in the historical town of Tarpon Springs, Florida, home of the famous Sponge Docks. Designed with the patients in mind, the building encompasses a beautifully landscaped courtyard. Peninsula Care & Rehab offers a comprehensive approach to healthcare and offers a wide spectrum of services that include inpatient therapy (physical, occupational and speech), round the clock skilled nursing care, outpatient therapy, a wound care program, cardiac care, diabetic care, short-term respite care, long-term care, and a wide range of scheduled daily activities. The quality of life of our patients is further enhanced with cable and bedside phones provided in every room, a facility chaplain, inter-facility events such as the Senior Olympics, and Friday afternoon Happy Hour.

We're currently hiring for the position of Activities Staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development, organization, and implementation of a program of activities to meet the social, emotional, physical and other therapeutic needs of residents as identified on the plan of care and within the specified budget.

  • Assist in the initiation and promotion of activities both within the facility and outside the facility, as weather permits, ensuring the safety and well-being of each resident at all times.

  • Develop and distribute a monthly calendar of events. Provide a copy of the calendar in each resident's room, and at least one large calendar prominently displayed in the facility.

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required or equivalent related work experience.

  • Six (6) months to one (1) year experience or related experience performing activity related duties.

  • Willing to enroll in a training course for activities within six (6) months of employment.

  • Knowledge of the aging process and various resident activities.

  • Ability to assume leadership role in the Activity Department in the absence of the Activity Director.

As our Staff Development Coordinator (RN), you will focus on developing and implementing job skills training and in-service education as required by regulations, and participate in employee health monitoring for the nursing department employees. You will also conduct competency skills reviews upon hire and annually for all nursing personnel. Additionally, you will develop and maintain the nursing department schedule in compliance with the staffing ladder criteria. The Staff Development Coordinator has a large role of the new hire orientation program and hiring/credentialing process. Requirements for Consideration include: * Registered Nurse with required current state licensure. * Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience in a health care setting; long-term care setting preferred. * Must have a current/active CPR certification. * Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care. * Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
