The Manager will be accountable for daily ongoing operational and administrative oversight of Activities through business process management and employee leadership. They will provide direct guidance for their activities and direct reports, while providing general oversight of all activities during their Manager on Duty shifts. They will partner with other mountain operations departments to ensure a seamless guest experience. The Manager will lead their teams through the implementation of activities operating procedures, ensuring exceptional service delivery, while ensuring a safe operating environment for guests and staff. This year round role will also include oversight of the winter activities operations at Breckenridge, including but not limited to the Gold Runner Coaster. This role will report to the Director of Summer Operations at Breckenridge.

  • Daily operational oversight of multiple activities ensuring a safe experience for both guests and employees.

  • Monitor and audit activity training processes and forms, Coordinate with area Team Leads to lead individual activity trainings. Distribute and train to Activities Department standards using the Activity Department Manual

  • Develop, maintain, and audit operational procedures and paperwork. Audit and assist with the maintenance of operating procedures, inspection logs and safety standards for employees and guests. Support initiatives through leadership, resort, and corporate direction.

  • Lead daily department meetings, address operations and guest service needs by setting clear goals and objectives for staff

  • Ensure continuing leadership and skill development feedback and exposure for Asst. Manager, Team Leads, and Leads within their area

  • Responsible for guest and employee safety and guest safety guiding awareness of compliance with state, federal, and industry regulatory operating requirements (ie. USFS, OSHA, ANSI, ASTM, ACCT, IAAPA, etc.)

  • Collective oversight and coordination between different activities to meet operational goals related to staffing and expense management that matches revenue goals

  • Oversight of Team Lead's, Lead's, and coordinator's processes of checklist completion, collection and audit

  • Work with their Leadership, Patrol/Medics, Lift Operations and other key departments to keep our facilities and equipment maintained and in working order and to develop a positive working environment within the activities department. Partner with all summer operations departments to react to operational needs due to increased/decreased guest flow, weather or operational modification

  • Work with Team Lead and Asst. Manager to perform progressive coaching and discipline conversations with staff according to protocol

  • Provide a connection with HR to ensure employee matters are handled appropriately in a timely manner in the department

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of Guest Service Experience

  • Min. 2 Years previous leadership experience in a dynamic operational setting (Ski resort, theme park, amusement park, and attraction experience preferred)

  • Basic construction knowledge and able to use hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.) as well as manual excavation tools (shovel, pick, etc.)

  • Effective communication skills with both guests and staff

  • Team player and leader

  • Ability and willingness to perform demanding physical labor

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time

  • Able to lift at least 55lbs

  • Willingness to work in a high alpine environment in all seasons.

  • Basic computer skills.

The Front Office Manager oversees daily operations of Front Desk, Bell, Valet, Ski Valet and Concierge staff at One Ski Hill Place and Crystal Peak Lodge to maximize revenues and profitability while ensuring outstanding guest service and satisfaction and adherence to Vail Resorts and RockResort standards. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Posting, hiring, coaching, training, and disciplining all front office positions. * Shop the bell staff, door staff, concierge, and front desk staff with RockResort tablet at least once per week. * Responsible for labor and expense for rooms department and for attending P and L reviews. * Assist with development of revenue, labor, expense, and capital budgeting. * Own all site tours, owner of the day, and potential owner experiences. * Speak with new owners and promote the VR rental program * Own all guest complaints and ensure management of Medallia responses * Ensure all checklists and MOD's for all front office departments are completed and filed as necessary * Ensure MOS's are completed and filed each day * Inventory, ordering, etc of the Market. * Represent the Front desk in pre-con meetings and ROCS * Conduct daily pre-shift meeting to include RockResort standard of the day and safety topic of the day * Develop and manage One Ski Hill Place/Crystal Peak Lodge VIP/Owner arrival program * Audit all websites during off season for content * Create schedule and manage payroll and PTO requests Requirements: * Must be on call for emergencies and questions * At least one year of previous hospitality management experience * Previous front office management experience - preferred If you're hard working and feel exhilarated serving others, you'll feel right at home in our authentic ski town and world-class mountain resort.
