A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ACTIVITIES ASSISTANT
Major job functions of the Recreation Specialist include; Planning and conducting activity programs under direct supervision; assisting with outings; recruiting and transporting residents to and from programs; conducting one to one therapeutic visit with residents; assisting in planning special events; responsible for a caseload of residents and records daily attendance; gives input for care/family conferences; assisting with decorations and publicity of therapeutic programs. We are looking for someone who is creative able to quickly adapt when faced with change, energetic and able to positively influence others in a supportive manner, and customer service oriented with great written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and computer skills as well as a teamwork attitude are a must.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR

• Prior experience OR certification in Activities

• Prior experience in a long-term care setting, preferably as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPPA regulations

• Desire to work with the elderly

• Experience assisting to develop and implement Activities Program in a Skilled Nursing Facility.
  WORK SCHEDULE
  This full-time position works 8-hour shifts, day shift with weekends as scheduled.
