Charlotte Assisted Living is seeking a PRN Activities Assistant / Life Enrichment Leader to collaborate with the Member Services Department to deliver outstanding customer service and develop an enriching community program for the members. Must be available to work some weekends.

The Activities Assistant shall assist in the development and integration of social events, outings, programs, and activities. Programming to focus on the six dimensions of wellness: emotional, intellectual, physical, social, spiritual, and vocational.

Experience and Skills:

A. Education

  • High school graduation or GED required.
  • CPR and AED certification required (must be attained in first 60 days of

employment).

  • Activities certification desired.

  • Four year college or university degree in Recreation Therapy or similar field

desired.

B. Direct Previous Experience

  • Two years' experience with geriatrics required.

  • Two years' experience in a similar activities position required.

C. Skills:

  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook)

plus the willingness to learn other computer programs if required.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must conduct all business with a professional manner and with a high level of

confidentiality.

  • Must have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record as specified by

the Company and by the Company's automobile insurance carrier.

D. Abilities:

  • Work indoors for the majority of the work day (fluorescent lights, HVAC

system, carpeted flooring, normal office noise levels)

  • Climb up to two flights of stairs occasionally.

  • Lift objects of 25 pounds or less over the head.

  • Move objects of 40 pounds or less.

  • Remain standing for extended periods.

  • Respond to medical emergencies if needed.

  • Assist with Member evacuations.

Responsibilities The Clinic Team Member will collaborate with the provider and other clinic team members to deliver excellent patient care. Educate patients and monitor treatment plans. Collect vital signs, patient history, and specimens. Perform phlebotomy, point of care testing, and administer injections and medications as directed by the provider in addition to other clinical tasks. Administrative duties include ordering supplies, updating/maintaining medical records and scheduling appointments. * Welcome patients to the clinic, obtain consents, and ensure appropriate medical history has been obtained and recorded prior to the visit * Provide a concierge-level of customer service to the patients * Triage and assist patients with coordinating and scheduling appointments, labs, and referrals. * Measure and record vital signs * Carry out the orders of the provider concerning patient care in a competent and safe manner. * Order and facilitate the arrival of medical supplies, office supplies, and medications * Work with computers, web-based technology, and EMR systems * Track wellness incentives * Foster a team environment with fellow support staff and providers * Assist provider with Occupational Health examinations and administrative duties, as applicable * Outreach and follow up with patients to drive quality clinical outcomes (Healthy Outcomes) * Manage insurance claims and billing, as applicable * Ability to perform Occupational Health and Safety services as needed/applicable including drug screens, physicals, etc. * Ability to perform all other duties as requested or assigned Qualifications * Active credentials/licensure * Minimum of 1 years of direct patient care experience in primary focused ambulatory care clinic * Phlebotomy experience preferred * Occupational Health & Safety experience preferred * Basic Life Support certification required * Understand medical terminology * Knowledge of practical nursing theories and policies * A commitment to OurHealth's mission * Team-oriented attitude * Thorough attention to detail * Self-awareness to ask questions when help is needed * Solid communication skills: written, verbal, and listening * An ability to travel to various OurHealth clinics. * A commitment to being present for every scheduled shift as patient care depends on you!
