The ideal candidate is patient, kind, organized and energetic. Activities Assistants should be encouraging to residents so they want to attend activities but will also need to be respectful of their right to decline. This position will report to the Director of Activities and by applying for the position you recognize that nothing in this job description restricts managements right to assign or reassign duties or responsibilities to this job at any time. You may be asked to help in other areas of the building as needed for the optimal performance of your building/department and the well-being of our residents.

Essential Job Functions

As an Activity Assistant in a Grace Management Services facility you must be able to perform the following essential functions as demonstrated by the ability to:

  • Facilitate and assist in group and individual recreation programs as needed.

  • Greet residents and make them feel excited and welcomed into any activities that might be of interest to them.

  • Maintain good customer service skills at all times to residents, visitors and staff within the building.

  • Comply with state, federal and OSHA regulations.

  • Comply with all facility policies and procedures.

  • Ensure supplies are in stock and in working condition for scheduled activities.

  • Complete documentation thoroughly as required for the position.

  • Assist in transporting residents to and from activities in a safe manner and ensuring safety during activities.

  • Work with volunteers as assigned by the Director of Activities, assisting in the recruitment, orientation, training, communicating and recognition of volunteers.

  • Attend in-service training programs for activities employees.

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma is preferred or an equivalent with knowledge of the practical application of recreation service programs, with a valid drivers license.

  • All candidates must be proficient in basic computer programs and must be able to correspond timely through e-mail or other forms of technical communication as needed to successfully complete the requirements for this job. Employees are required to complete monthly on-line education courses to keep our team members knowledgeable on the latest information and regulations. Individuals may be required to:

  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time

  • Reach above shoulder heights, below waist or lift as required to complete the job responsibilities

  • Proper lifting techniques, ability to read computer screens and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions are required

  • Must be able to lift 50 to 75 pounds. Raising objects from lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This requirement occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.

  • Must be able to balance, climb, crouch, grasp, kneel, pull, push, reach, stand and stoop adequately to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Must be able to hear, smell, feel and speak adequately to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Must be able to read and write the English language.

  • Must be able to work inside and outside with exposure to outdoor weather conditions.

Interviews, takes applications, gathers information, and processes preliminary documentation on loan requests. c. Evaluates and verifies loan applications and credit criteria. Computes debt ratios. Verifies employment and income. Determines value of collateral. Gets loan approvals and notifies applicants of loan decisions. Requests additional information if required. d. Coordinates and processes closings. Ensures that each loan is promptly and properly prepared, documented, processed, approved, and disbursed. e. Calculates terms, finance charges, and insurance on loans for proper disclosure on promissory notes. f. Assists in servicing loans by processing such items as payoff, refinances, problem loan workout arrangements, address changes, payment extensions, collateral releases, and payment due date changes. g. Assumes responsibility for filing vehicle titles and prompt follow-up on titles still pending. Verifies car insurance coverage. Makes car appraisals. h. Sells credit life, disability, and other loan products. * Ensures that lending operations are conducted in accordance with established Credit Union policies and are legally compliant. Ensures that loan requests are properly documented. j. Performs all tasks accurately and proactively seeks to solve problems or assists anywhere needed. 2. Assumes responsibility as a Service Ambassador by establishing and maintaining effective, professional business relationships with internal and external members as well as the communities in which we serve. a. Resolves members' requests and questions promptly, accurately and courteously. b. Helps members balance their checking accounts. c. Keeps members properly informed of Credit Union loan policies and services. d. Supports and protects the Credit Union's quality reputation by embracing the Mission, Vision and Core Values. e. Counsels members regarding money management and financial matters. 3. Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and communication with area personnel and management. a. Assists area personnel as required. Provides guidance to other Financial Service Representatives. Assists with training or orientation as needed. b. Assists in training and cross-training co-workers. c. Completes reports and records promptly and accurately. Ensures any and all loan documentation is complete, accurate and signed as required. d. Attends meetings as required. e. Serves as a leader in the branch. f. Keeps Management informed of area activities and of any significant problems. 4. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. a.
