Active Directory Engineer
Perspecta has an immediate need for an Active Directory Engineer in Huntsville, AL.
Perform Monthly vulnerability scans of key systems, to include:
Test in the lab, and scan again to verify the fix.
Coordinate with team members to apply fix to production environment.
Submit Change Requests.
Maintain lab infrastructure.
Address current and future Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms).
Assist in building out new infrastructure to alleviate End of Life concerns for hardware and software.
Monitor Security vulnerability reporting tool to ensure that systems remain healthy and ensure that all assets are reporting correctly.
Manage and monitor user authentication, authorization and access controls for systems and applications.
Document changes to systems and networks that impact security.
Respond to and resolve alerts/anomalies through monitoring to ensure appropriate behavior.
Generate and maintain administrative documentation such as architecture diagrams and admin manuals, operational procedures and processes.
Review and evaluate patch findings. Recommend software upgrades and perform upgrades in production.
Ability to provide working knowledge experience as a domain level administrator supporting an Agency level Microsoft Active Directory forest.
Knowledge of how to provision and de-provision domain controllers, troubleshoot replication issues, under-bar zone issues; understand FSMO roll requirements and concerns, etc.
Manage and troubleshoot Group Policies for servers and end user devices at an Agency level.
Proficiency in Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2012 R2 required.
Ability to resolve single and cross technology incidents independently and assist team members to resolve unusually complex or cross technology incidents.
Proactively and reactively, look for solutions to prevent problems from occurring in team/technology area.
Independently review, implement and verify changes/solutions of high complexity and risk to meet customer requirements; following all required change processes.
Apply patch and security changes per policy and proactively monitor the environment for patch compliance.
Knowledge to maintain asset and configuration management databases along with Development and As-built documentation.
Experience in managing small to medium sized projects required.
Work closely with other team members, which may be virtual, global and/or multi-functional; and be seen as a trusted advisor inside and outside the team.
A Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, three additional years of relevant professional experience (8+ years in total).
5+ years of professional experience
Sufficient depth and breadth of technical knowledge to be individually responsible for the design and scope of deliverables within a field of expertise. Experience in leading a small team in delivery of a specific deliverable.
Perform/drive resolution of problems on combinations and interactions of products. Ability to apply technology and consulting to solve a client business problem.
Communicate and present complex issues with assurance and confidence. Demonstrate the use of consulting skills including questioning, listening, ideas development, permission and rapport and influencing.
Conduct/ lead oral status/ technical interchange meetings with clients on small to medium sized engagements.
Owns and produces customer documentation. Ability to translate technical details into concise and easy to understand written form. Write relevant components of a proposal document (e.g. answer specific RFP questions). Translate verbal requirements from face to face client meetings into requirements documents, statements of work and proposals.
Discuss (within own area of expertise) requirements with a customer and to challenge and clarify when appropriate. From the requirements, develop a high-level design or plan and then estimate the amount of effort required to deliver. Advice the engagement owner about the risks associated with this work package.
Work with a team to provide written responses to technical proposals and /or reports/ documentation for delivery.
