ActioNet is looking for for a Cloud Software Engineer III, specializing in cloud technologies. ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator headquartered in Vienna, VA, working with the Federal Government and Department of Defense. The ideal candidate will possess extensive technical expertise in developing, managing, and deploying cloud-based software solutions. This role requires a strong background in cloud computing, software engineering, and modern software development methodologies.

Location: Charleston, SC

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy cloud-based software solutions.

• Integrate software solutions into existing systems and ensure interoperability.

• Investigate modernization initiatives involving infrastructure enterprise managed services, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and optimizations of commercial cloud-hosted systems.

• Support the system development lifecycle (SDLC), including evaluation, planning, architectural analysis, design, engineering, testing, documentation, and integration activities.

• Focus on automation leveraging cloud-based services, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, or Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions.

• Manage various operating systems, including Windows, Red Hat Linux, Amazon Linux, Linux AIX, and Oracle Solaris.

• Support cloud service offerings at all Impact Levels (IL2/4/5/6) for computing, cloud database solutions, infrastructure logging, event monitoring, remote access, networking solutions, security, identity services, and cloud automation.

• Support static and dynamic web hosting, including content management systems like WordPress and web applications using frameworks like Vue or React.

• Provide database management and support for relational, NoSQL, and other database technologies.

• Optimize software and system performance through code optimization, database tuning, system configuration, and load testing to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to support team.

Required Qualifications:

• Active Secret clearance, with eligibility for Top Secret

• Master's degree with ten (10) years of experience or Bachelor's degree with fourteen (14) years of experience in professional research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs, which may include database maintenance within an application area.

• Professional experience with research, design, and development of computer and network software or specialized utility programs.

• Application of programming concepts in a professional or academic setting.

• Experience with modern software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps, DevSecOps) in a professional or academic setting.

• Experience supervising and/or mentoring junior personnel.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in supporting systems engineering or systems administration within an enterprise hosting environment.

• Familiarity with enterprise managed services and multiple interconnected systems.

Required Certifications:

• CompTIA Security+ or CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) or Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP).

• IEEE CS Software Development Professional or a vendor/platform specific certification such as:

• Microsoft role-based certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA))

• Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP) role-based certifications

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)

• Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP)

• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)

• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)

• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

• Citrix Certified Administrator

• Cloud certifications such as AWS Architect, Developer, and SysOps Professional

• Agile Developer certification or Certified Scrum Developer certification
