Federal Work Study and SEU Student Worker position.

Accepting applications for Office Assistants and Student Tutors. For the tutoring position, students

majoring in the following subject areas are encouraged to apply: Business, Nursing, Ministry, Education

and paper formatting.

Description:

Office Assistant position serves students by scheduling tutoring sessions, signing students in and out of

ACE, processing & sending out reports, and answering questions.

Tutoring occurs in individual and group settings. Tutors are trained to lead sessions according to the

standards of the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). The responsibilities of the tutor

include: guiding peers through course material, completing documentation for all facilitated sessions, and

fulfilling all training requirements. This position reports to the ACE Director and the Tutoring Coordinator.

Requirements:

  • Have passed the courses you tutor with a "B" or higher.

  • Must have a career GPA of 2.5 or higher for office assistants, & 3.0 for tutors.

  • Must be enrolled in courses at SEU.

Role:

Office Assistant

● Serves students by answering questions; forwarding messages; scheduling tutoring sessions.

● Forwards information by receiving and distributing communications; collecting and emailing

correspondence; recording information.

● Processing data, building reports, and sharing reports with appropriate contacts.

● Provides professional, friendly customer service.

● Provides spiritual encouragement to the SEU community by promoting hope, respect, and

understanding to each individual.

Tutor

● Serve students by providing content support to SEU students in the tutor's subject area.

● Act as a course guide (not an instructor role).

● Complete 10 hours of training every semester. Training contributes to certification with the CRLA

International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC). Training will be held before the

semester starts.

● Provide professional, friendly customer service.

● Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the center.
