Marcom is Apple's Global Marketing Communications group. We oversee all of Apple's advertising and marketing to ensure the flawless development and execution of world-class communications.

In the role of Associate Creative Director (ACD), you provide leadership within the experience design (XD) team, specifically for, the Apple Store app, social media platforms, and digital signage. You will be responsible for leading a group of designers across multiple projects, typically focused on a single area: product launch and campaigns, retail, or channel.

You will empower and mentor the team while providing critical feedback on deliverables, and work closely with leadership from other disciplines to deliver elegant XD thinking and documentation for informational websites, transactions, and app experiences.

Key Qualifications

  • You have at least 10 years of significant experience in information architecture and experience design.

  • You possess excellent conceptual and analytical skills.

  • You have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills; can present and explain XD directions to a broad audience; and can contribute effectively during all phases of an interactive project.

  • You understand how to bring to bear analytics and user testing to inform the process.

  • You have extensive experience with content strategy and platform design, from large-scale marketing sites to transactional commerce sites.

  • You are proficient in Web and app experience design and are familiar with current development technologies..

  • You understand the requirements of the creative process, including typical time and resources needed to produce quality work.

  • You are fluent in analytics, usability tests, and other forms of qualitative and quantitative feedback.

  • Your portfolio shows applied knowledge of usability, user-centered design, and content strategy with logical and creative thinking. Your XD documents include sitemaps, flows, and wireframes.

  • You have a dream to work in a creative and dynamic environment.


  • Collaborates across disciplines with writers, designers, developers, and creative technologists.
  • Ensures that assignments are on track and aligned with strategy.

  • Leads and motivates the team by having a focused vision, a level head and a clear strategy.

  • Presents work to internal teams and executives at Apple, clearly articulating design rationale.

  • Works as creative partner with other Marcom ACDs.

  • Demonstrates extraordinary strategic and design thinking and provides expertise in content strategy, system design, usability, analytics, user testing, information architecture, and marketing.

  • Articulates the rationale behind design decisions, and exhibits strong managerial skills to guide the internal team and external partners.

Education & Experience

A Bachelor of Science degree with multidisciplinary educational backgrounds such as psychology, computer science, information sciences, commerce and business library science, human-computer interaction, or another related discipline is preferred.

Marcom designs and delivers the iconic brand images and experiences to various sites, apps and retail stores. We work on many high-impact projects that serve various Apple lines of business. Working with a variety of multi-functional teams, we bring it all together to deliver the interactive experiences with an excellent group of software engineers while having fun along the way. Apple is seeking a Technology Operations and Documentation Lead to manage the coordination of our many technology-related documents and communications. The purpose of this role is to establish a framework and structure for how we collect, write and organize our documentation to be adopted by the larger Technology organization. Key Qualifications * Writing/Organization/Communication: Solid understanding of technology with the ability to write clear documentation for a technical audience (engineers.) * Good attention to detail - must be able to proof own work! * Able to keep on-top of team updates and write clear, measurable communication to large engineering team (usually sent via email and/or web portal.) * Good communication across multiple areas of Marcom (Tech, UX, Design, PM/Production, Stakeholders in other groups, Leadership, etc.) * Technical: 8-10 years of professional experience with front end web development (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3) * Experience with source control software (SVN, Git) * Experience with CSS3 * Working knowledge of package managers and front-end build tools in a production environment (e.g. NPM, Gulp, Grunt) * Experience using and writing templates (Handlebars, Mustache, etc) * Competent JavaScript programmer who doesn't need to rely on libraries to accomplish innovative interactions * Experience in web standards, semantic web, accessibility and SEO and the interplay between them. Description Lead documentation and operational support for the front-end development team. This includes organizing and writing documentation for our code libraries; our process documentation; communication protocol and process; and helping with the support and organization of various tools, events and collaboration spaces (e.g Device/Testing Lab, Yearly Developer Symposium, etc). This role requires understanding of technology, strong writing and organizational skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively across teams in Marcom Interactive. * Organization (including categorization) and maintenance of all existing, appropriate documentation. - Establish, implement and maintain a process where all code and reference material have a single point of reference that is both unambiguous and easy to find - Integrate with on-boarding process. (We currently run most new developers through a separate team for on-boarding.) - Collaborate with developers during code review to help guide teams where existing library code should be used or when new code should be brought into the library. - Establish best practices for documenting new code/new libraries and work with teams to communicate and integrate into workflow. - Work with Frameworks team to support the improvements and updates our existing online portal.
