The ACD-Copy is a leader at the agency who works across brands and team that works in close partnership with numerous clients as well as colleagues in Art, Account Service, Project Management and Strategy as the go to person when it comes to strategic and creative development. The ACD-Copy is recognized by the client as essential to all brand creative and strategic meetings. The ACD-Copy should be able to supervise and mentor a range of teams and assignments while still directly participating in work themselves. In addition, the ACD-Copy must have the ability to support and participate in new business opportunities as a member of the pitch team, while ensuring that billable work remains high quality and stays on track.

  • Contributes to a wide range of accounts and internal agency initiatives as needed

  • Contributes at a high level on all assigned brands and new business opportunities
  • Drives the conceptual process alone or as part of a group by generating ideas for existing and potential clients
  • Develops strong client relationships through participation in market research, presenting creative campaigns, and leading the strategic development process
  • Reviews, stays current and lectures on industry events and trends and how they can/will impact current and future agency business
  • Supervises and mentors teams so they can contribute effectively to the success and growth of the agency
  • Recognized as an expert when it comes to their brand(s) who understands:
    • The brand(s) clinical/scientific data
    • The disease state(s) and therapeutic category(s)
    • The competitive landscape in terms of both data and communication
    • The external regulatory environment as it applies to their area(s) of therapy
    • The internal (client) regulatory environment and level of risk tolerance
  • Proficient in understanding raw and/or published data with a keen ability to derive insights that will differentiate the brand in the marketplace
  • Works with Art counterparts to develop creative strategies and to develop dynamic and ownable concepts
  • Works with Account and Strategy departments to proactively lead the client
  • Supervises, trains and mentors developing writers on specific assignments, even if the individuals are not direct reports
  • Fields questions and defends positions effectively, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrates leadership ability in terms of strategy, creativity, business acumen, culture and values
  • Communicates agency point of view to client
  • Communicates openly and collegially with all team members

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree a real plus
  • 7+ years of experience in an agency with healthcare experience
  • thorough understanding of the digital environment including trends and social media
  • Demonstrated conceptual ability
  • proven track record in terms of teamwork and collaboration
  • Science and/or medical background a plus
  • Demonstrates competency in the entire Microsoft software Suite

Job responsibilities encompass elements of both writing and management.
