Behavioral Health Specialist

Adult Community Clinical Services

Eliot's newly developed integrated Team Model, which is multidisciplinary, flexible, and based on clinical assessment, will provide recovery focused treatment to individuals living in Eliot's residential programs. These teams are seeking behavioral specialist to provide interventions and supports focusing on rehabilitation, behavioral health needs, and engagement in meaningful daily activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide side by side interventions to Persons that focus on problem solving, skills training, modeling behavior, optimism and encouragement. Assist the team and Persons in providing on-going assessment of symptoms and responses to staff interventions

  • Participate in the development of treatment plans and ensure that the Person is at the center of the process and that the interventions are clinically based. Support Persons in their desire for recovery and rehabilitation in the development of their goals.

  • Support the pursuit of services that are culturally competent, strengths based, recovery based, focused on rehabilitation and are inclusive of Person preferences. Ensure that interventions embrace Person preferences, are evidence based and utilize cultural/community resources.

  • Assist Persons in accessing Person resources and natural support to achieve goals. facilitate community integration according to Persons' needs, desires and with consultation from supervisor and team staff.

Pay Rate $15/hr

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency, BA preferred. Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and possess a MA. Driver's license and reliable transportation.

Up to 5 weeks vacation, 12 sick days and 11 holidays.

Eliot pays 75% medical/dental/visual insurance.

The Direct Care Counselor is responsible for supervising the daily activities of the clients, providing ongoing support, guidance and role modeling and facilitating client improvement in the areas of personal responsibility, social skills, community living skills and behavior. Minimum Education RequiredHigh School Diploma/GEDResponsibilities * Provide ongoing support, guidance, support, role modeling and mentorship to clients and staff. * Ensure a clean, sage and home-like environment for clients. * Participate in the development of the Individual Service Plan (ISP) and attend other treatment meetings, including Individualized Action Plans (IAPs) and weekly staff meetings. * Perform interventions with clients that address their identified goals and result in skill development. * Provide linkage with other program staff and other service providers. * Communicate program participants' progress, mental status, and any changes in daily notes. * Monitor and document medication administration. * Provide crisis intervention and access emergency services as needed. Qualifications * BA/BS in related field and 2 years experience; or H.S. Diploma/GED and 3 years related experience. * Must hold a valid driver's license, have access to an operational and insured vehicle and be willing to use it to transport clients. * Excellent interpersonal, judgement and coaching skills. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to utilize basic computer applications. * Desire to thrive in a fast-paced, client-centered, team-oriented environment. * Demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
