As the Accounts Receivable (AR) Supervisor, you will collaborate with other departments, business partners and customers to improve the invoice-to-pay process. What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Review daily, weekly and monthly production volumes

  • Work with internal operations and support teams to ensure the timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments and other AR functions

  • Audit customer AR rates to ensure accurate billing; monitor all audit functions daily and assign workload to avoid any past-due tasks

  • Monitor and contribute to the organization's competitive edge by developing and executing best-in-class strategies; provide recommendations for process improvements on an ongoing basis

  • Develop direct reports to increase the bench strength and flexibility of the team; ensure that employees receive appropriate training and resources to perform their jobs effectively and efficiently

  • Handle all supervisory-level responsibilities for staff, including hiring new team members, developing employees, conducting performance reviews and coaching/counseling staff

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience

  • 3 years of experience in accounts payable or related area, including 2 or more years of experience managing professional staff, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Oracle Financials software

It'd be great if you also have:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate and present clean, organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience

  • Excellent interpersonal and management skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and get along with diverse personalities

  • Strong time and project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workloads

  • Ability to develop insightful, value-added and actionable analyses with detailed explanations regarding drivers of those results

  • Ability to effectively identify and resolve problems in high-visibility, high-stress situations

As the Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist, you will be responsible for generating customized freight invoices for our clients. This role is critical in positioning XPO for long-term success. What you'll do on a typical day: * Review and interpret contractual requirements for individual customer invoicing needs * Create invoices based on contractual requirements, e.g., EDI, manual, consolidated, etc. * Research balance due, AR debits and credits in the Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Oracle for original amount verification * Respond to field requests for invoice corrections, reprints or to meet documentation requirements * Ensure daily, weekly and monthly customer deadlines are met based on the individual requirements for each account What you need to succeed at XPO: At a minimum, you'll need: * High school diploma or equivalent * 1 year of professional experience * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills It'd be great if you also have: * Some college Accounting coursework * Advanced Excel skills * Knowledge of Oracle AP and AR applications or other accounting-related software * Understanding and knowledge of transportation industry terminology, specifically as it relates to invoicing and rating structures * Demonstrated analytical skills Be part of something big.
