Accounts Receivable Specialist - The Saint Paul Hotel

This position is responsible for accounting processes associated with accounts receivable. This includes preparing, reviewing, and sending invoices; monitoring receipt of timely payments; and reconciling associated general ledgers and house accounts for accuracy. This position will work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate month-end financial records, and assist with other departmental support as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in new customer credit approval process, including running credit checks and verifying credit references.

• Timely and accurate preparation and distribution of invoices.

• Review and monitor of AR aging reports.

• Facilitate monthly credit meetings between accounting team and sales staff.

• Maintain applicable general ledger, clearing, and house accounts.

• Reconcile online ticketing systems.

• Assist with hotel cash reconciliation.

• Respond to guest or client inquires effectively and in a timely manner.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• 2+ years' Accounts Receivable experience, including preparing invoices and communicating with clients.

• Accounts receivable experience within a hospitality environment.

• Excel experience.

• Able to pick up new technology in a timely manner.

• Understanding of accounting processes and GAAP principles.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to position self to move about.

• The employee frequently is required to operate and use accounting tools and equipment; and communicate with guests, employees, and management.

• The employee may need to travel (locally) to other properties occasionally.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Two-year degree in accounting or finance.
• SAGE Intaact or Infor PMS experience
