Accounts Receivable Specialist

What you will be doing:

• Record and reconcile incoming payments received from customers against outstanding invoices.

• Ensure accurate and timely application of payments to customer accounts in the accounting system.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between payment amounts and invoices to maintain data integrity.

• Monitor accounts receivable aging reports to identify overdue accounts and outstanding balances.

• Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable aging, cash flow projections, and collection activities for management review.

• Analyze trends and patterns in accounts receivable data to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.

• Provide insights and recommendations to management on strategies to optimize cash flow and reduce outstanding receivables.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and relevant regulations.

• Maintain organized and accurate records of accounts receivable transactions and documentation.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounts receivable procedures.

• Perform other duties, as assigned.

What you have:

Education, Experience, and Licensing:

• Bachelor's degree or High School diploma and equivalent relevant work experience required.

• 2+ years' experience in accounts receivable or relevant accounting roles.

• Hands-on accounting experience within the Property and Casualty Insurance industry preferred.

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies:

• Working knowledge of GAAP, ledger, account reconciliation, audit/control procedures, cash, A/P, A/R, banking and/or accounting systems.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact on a professional level.

• Ability and desire to deliver exceptional customer service.

• Ability to be adaptable and flexible; adjusting to new requirements or unforeseen issues.

• Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively.

• Proficient in MSO/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
