Position Summary
The Accounts Receivable Manager is a full-time exempt position that is responsible for various tasks, daily, monthly and annually in relation to the supervision and management of the accounts receivable/billing department. Accounts Receivable Manager's working hours are 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday through Friday including 1 remote work day. The position reports to the Director of Finance and is located on the Mequon, Wisconsin campus.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Supervises, directs, and coordinates activities of the Accounts Receivable
Ensures that the one-stop shop operates according to the university plan
Oversees the collections process, including filing documents with both the collection firms and municipal courts
Responsible for customer service of accounts receivable for traditional, adult education, and various graduate student accounts including understanding and explaining invoices, answering questions, and helping resolve problems;
Oversee the implementation and continuous oversight of 3rd party billing
Oversee and assist the Director of Finance with billing for Offshore programs
Implements and supervises internal controls within the business office functions of the university
Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports
Interacts with various offices within the university as well as outside constituents
Assists General Accounting with annual audit, single audit, and various accounting projects
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge and skill in the use of a computer and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access;
Knowledge and skill in the use of the Banner computer system is a plus;
Experience in reconciling and posting to accounts, general accounting knowledge a plus;
Experience in handling cash and checks; understands a database system;
Able to prioritize and juggle multiple priorities and tasks;
Able to deal with interruptions and work in a fast paced office environment;
Able to professionally deal with a variety of people who visit or call the Business Office;
Able to work evenings and weekend hours as required.

Education & Experience
A high school diploma is required and 3-4 years of office experience. Bookkeeping, accounting and/or customer service experience is a plus.
