Job Summary: The accounts receivable clerk is responsible for managing the company's receivables, ensuring timely collection of payments from customers, and maintaining accurate records of all transactions.
Responsibilities:
Generate and send out invoices to customers accurately and in a timely manner.
Follow up on overdue accounts and ensure timely collection of payments.
Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues with customer accounts.
Maintain accurate records of customer payments and transactions.
Prepare and distribute statements of account to customers as needed.
Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and customer service, to resolve billing issues and discrepancies.
Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.
Provide support for audits and respond to audit inquiries related to accounts receivable.
Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and regulations related to accounts receivable processes.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.
Proven experience in accounts receivable or related financial role.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Experience with customer service and resolving customer inquiries and issues.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance related to accounts receivable processes is a plus.
