There's an exciting opportunity available with Accountemps for an experienced Accounts Receivable (A/R) professional to join a growing organization. You will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L. You will be processing full-cycle AP, handling a high volume of invoices per week, with high attention to detail. This is a long term temporary-to-fulltime Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Indianapolis, Indiana area. What you get to do every single day

  • Verify codes and documents

  • Provide information, as requested to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders

  • Square bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in diverse ledgers

  • Sort out payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP - Locate delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment

  • Be an ambassador of the mission, values, and culture of the organization

  • Carry out an assortment of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks

  • Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans

Requirements

  • Detailed and have the ability work independently

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field

  • Well-founded grasp of bank reconciliations

  • Foundational knowledge in commercial collections

  • Expertise in accounts receivable

  • Proven knowledge of cash applications

  • Account reconciliation experience desired

  • Microsoft Excel experience highly desired

  • Strong familiarity with accounts receivable aging

  • Experience with ERP systems

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable

  • Demonstrated analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy

Accountant - Accounts Payable/Contracts This position is responsible for the accounts payable functions for the Corporation. This position is also responsible for maintaining and supervising all the Corporation's contracts - letter, PM, CRR and constriction and applying the correct funding sources. This position will work closely with the AVP of Historic Sites. This position requires basic knowledge of state's purchasing guidelines. A day in the life * Responsible for reviewing each invoice for proper coding by location, department, and general ledger account number, project and funding source. * Responsible for reviewing the documentation submitted for payment for proper authorization. * Responsible for printing checks on a weekly basis for payment of invoices in accounts payable once the list had been approved. * Responsible for facilitating contracts through the process - purchasing, bidding, bid tabulation, contract documents, purchase orders and payment. * Responsible for preparing journal entries for the bi-weekly payroll expense to the general ledger and other month end journal entries. * Assist in work paper preparation for year-end audit. Responsible for maintaining contract status worksheet and other various accounting worksheets.
