POSITION TITLE: Accounts Receivable Cash Applications Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

We at Scripps Research have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Cash Applications Analyst who will serve as a core member of the Finance team responsible for accounts receivable cash processing activities and document management. Founded in 1924 by Ellen Browning Scripps, Scripps Research is dedicated to turning scientific inquiry into innovative treatments that benefit the world. Located in Torrey Pines, the institute now houses six research departments, multiple Nobel laureates and a top-ranked graduate school and will celebrate its 100-year history throughout 2024. The AR Cash applications analyst should be familiar with company financial documents, general ledger activities, and reconciliation functions, and able to effectively partner with other Scripps Research and Calibr departments to ensure accuracy, consistency, and transparency across AR activities.

The ideal candidate for this position is an energetic operational support professional, who can handle day-to-day tasks with a focus on efficiency and time management. Incumbent will be responsible for effectively applying customer payments, following up unclaimed, as well as a variety of tasks from the compliance of accounting, and overall administrative requirements. The incumbent is detailed oriented, has a strong foundation in cash application and has demonstrated work experience in processing Accounts receivable payments for a fast-paced and highly transactional company (preferably Biotech). The candidate must demonstrate the ability to learn/understand revenue operations, communicate effectively, and be team oriented.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Reviews and processes accounts receivable payments with supporting documentation in Workday and update sub systems in a timely manner.

  • Reconciles unapplied/unclaimed/on account balances consistent basis.

  • Assists in investigating AR related inquiries and facilitates collection processes.

  • Partners effectively with organizational stakeholders, management, and peers and communicates effectively with outside consultants, Scripps personnel, and leadership in support of AR activities and compliance with internal controls and policies.

  • Research, respond and assign Resolve tickets.

  • Ad hoc projects as assigned by management.

  • Details of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5 years of AR related experience, preferably in Biotech; or Associates degree with 4 years of AR related experience preferably in Biotech; or Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree from a 4-year university with a major in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, statistics, or mathematics.

  • Working knowledge and/or experience with any large ERP Oracle cloud systems, NetSuite, Great Plains etc. Workday preferred.

  • Proficiency using spreadsheet and database software for moderately complex financial analysis and financial Ability to research, collect, process, validate, and interpret financial from diverse sources such as web-based software and operating ledger systems.

  • Experienced and comfortable working with Banking platforms preferably BoA Cashpro, portals like Bill.com etc.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with impeccable grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

  • Requires intermediate-level proficiency with MS Office Suite as well as Acrobat, along with the ability to learn other software programs.

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, change priorities as needed, and work independently with little supervision.

  • Flexibility with workload and ability to adhere to tight deadlines, and able to adjust schedules as needed.

  • Understanding of GAAP principles, and internal controls.

  • This is an on-campus position requiring 4 days per week working onsite from our La Jolla campus, with flexibility to work 1 day per week remotely from home.

COMPENSATION:

The expected hiring range for this position is $26.44 to $28.84/hourly, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
