Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Description Job Description LHH is partnering with a client to hire a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist for a contract opportunity in San Bruno, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s accounts payable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, expense reports, and payments.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Process and review incoming invoices and expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors and suppliers, including processing checks, ACH transfers, and credit card payments. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or payment issues. Maintain organized and up-to-date records for all accounts payable transactions.

Collaborate with internal departments to resolve invoice-related issues and provide exceptional customer service to vendors. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures related to accounts payable. Prepare and file tax documents (e.g., 1099 forms). Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed.

Monitor and maintain the accounts payable email inbox, responding to inquiries promptly. Support the implementation of process improvements and automation tools to streamline workflows. Qualifications: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience. 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.

Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with [insert relevant software, e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, etc.], is a plus). Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial regulations. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
