About The Role

The Accounts Payable Disbursements Specialist will report directly to the Accounts Payable Sr. Manager and is responsible for the processing of FTI Consulting's bank/payment processes. The role also coordinates the response to departmental inquiries and required treasury transactions.

What You'll Do

• Initiate domestic and international wire transfers

• Perform weekly payment runs for both vendors and employees

• Process monthly Canadian tax payments via bank's tax portal

• Ensure all manual payments are posted to accounting ledger prior to period close

• Identify and resolve discrepancies for all bank accounts

• Monitor bank activity reports, correct any exceptions/positive pay issues

• Manage stop/void payment requests and process all bank traces

• Assist with year-end 1099 process

• Research payment discrepancies from vendors and internal customers

• Support the outstanding checks and escheat process

• Support internal and external auditor requests

• Action daily assigned customer support tickets via our customer support ticketing system

• Perform special projects or other duties as requested

• Maintains professional and technical knowledge

What You Will Need to Succeed

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+yrs experience in accounting and AP bank disbursements

• Accounting/Finance degree or equivalent experience

• Experience working on various Accounting/Financial Management and or major ERP systems

• Knowledge of full-cycle accounting and general ledger processes

• Working knowledge of Treasury Management systems

• Experience working in a shared service environment and providing quality customer service

• Experience in researching/resolving internal and external issues in a timely and professional manner

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

• Microsoft Office (Excel proficiency)

• Strong organization and ability to multi-task, possess analytical and reconciliation skills

• Experience taking a leading role in projects and working to streamline processes

• Demonstrated leadership skills
