To succeed in this Accounts Payable Associate role, you will need to prepare journal entries, full-cycle Accounts Payable, expense reports, and reconciliations. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Wakefield area, at a company where effort is rewarded. Responsibilities ? Ensure accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices for payment, ensure proper coding and approval routing ? Reconcile invoices with POs and follow up on discrepancies ? Request statements from vendors on a monthly basis and be proactive in obtaining unpaid invoices ? Prepare weekly check run reports ? Be the first point of contact for any AP-related issues. ? Requirements

  • Established communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

  • Check processing experience

  • Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Excel

  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounts payable

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

  • Prior experience in an A/P role preferred

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must

We are currently looking for a Sr Staff Accountant to work in our Corporate Finance department in Wakefield, MA. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Senior Staff Accountant will support senior management and staff by performing complex technical and administrative functions including general accounting, payroll administration, bookkeeping, financial reporting and administrative support. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of managing cross-functional tasks and projects, and will wear multiple hats in a fast-paced environment. Primary Responsibilities * Ensures compliance with internal policies, rules and regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles. * Completes monthly financial statement close procedures to ensure timely reporting. * Assists in the preparation of consolidated internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments. * Maintains and balances an automated consolidation system by inputting data; scheduling required jobs; verifying data. * Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts. * Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data. * Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential. * Reviews and analyzes reports for accuracy prior to distribution. * Identifies problems and interacts with internal and/or external contacts as required to correct deficiencies. Rejects and returns documentation as appropriate. * Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications – including technical accounting guidance; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. * Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. Education and Work Experience * Bachelors or higher degrees in accounting or finance. * Four to six years accounting or finance experience. * Must have working knowledge of ERP systems. * Knowledge of GAAP and general familiarity of IFRS with the ability to interpret and apply technical guidance. * Strong ability to use MS Office packages, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. * Strong ability to communicate in writing and speaking, as well as solid organizational skills. * Detail-oriented with excellent ability to analyze and interpret data. * Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work effectively in a team environment and to meet crucial deadlines. * Must have ability to work independently and to think critically to improving organization's processes. * Understands business implications of decisions; Demonstrates knowledge of market and competition; Aligns work with strategic goals.
