Carnegie Mellon University's department of Finance is searching for an Accounts Payable Representative to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing support by performing all accounts payable functions including, but not limited to, invoice triage, data entry, research and payment of supplier invoices, and supplier checks returned, and researching supplier statements.
Core responsibilities include:
Perform Core Functions of AP as assigned
Payment processing for all ledgers
Accurately and timely process all payment functions
System supplier maintenance, including but not limited to:
Accurately enter supplier information in Oracle
Management of Supplier queues in Perceptive Content
Assist AP management with the PaymentWorks Process
Invoice and credit memo processing in Perceptive Content, Brainware and Oracle.
Triage invoices in Perceptive Content and Brainware to ensure invoices are accurately processed to reflect content of the invoice
Accurately enter Payment Form invoices in Oracle
Ensure all documented AP processes and procedures are followed; Researches and resolves payable issues with campus and external representatives of the University, including maintaining the Oracle Holds report for the associated range of suppliers. Alert AP Manager to recurring invoice, payment and supplier issues. Perform daily tasks, which include but are not limited to, bank returns, vendor statement review, and vendor and campus refund checks.
Additional responsibilities include answering telephones and responding to customer service requests and backing up others in the department when needed.
Any other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the AP Manager

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
1-3 years of accounts payable experience required
A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

Sponsorship: Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work for CMU in the United States. CMU will not sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this opportunity.
Work Posture: This position is operating on a hybrid schedule, with an on-campus/in office presence two days a week.
Typical Work Schedule: Monday-Friday from 8:30-5:00pm. An alternate work schedule allowing for evening and weekend hours will be required on occasion.
