Accountabilities / Responsibilities

Accounts Payable Representative

Position Purpose:

As a member of the Accounts Payable team, the Accounts Payable (AP) Representative will be responsible in providing support and assistance to SCA internal and external stakeholder related to AP processes by providing best in class support services. The AP Representative will own and manage but not limited to SCA accounts payable related processes, relationship management, daily interaction with businesses, handling complex questions or problems and managing support platform.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support the business development and support services teams for Accounts Payable processes by working escalated or time sensitive issues in a professional and timely manner and assisting with questions regarding AP

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the identification and resolution of AP process-related issues

  • Recommend and participate in process improvement and automation initiatives

  • Assist with payment requests and voids

  • Ensure monthly and daily task are complete prior to deadlines

  • Leading AP support areas with minimal supervision

  • Support and assist AP related Inquiring utilizing multiple payable platforms

  • Handling support platform to help and train in to include assisting with procedures, inquiries, and problem resolution

  • Work independently to make informed suggestions or decisions based on the review of the support questions and concerns and drive implementation of preferred solution

  • Identify and implementation of solutions for current processes through review and discussion with teammates

  • Monitor support portal to ensure timely response (EquipAP and HelpDesk)

  • Assist AP Supervisor and AP Lead with ad-hoc request and administrative duties as needed


Total education, vocational training, and experience:

  • High School diploma

  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal

  • Comfortable in fast-paced environment

  • Minimum 2+ years of Accounts Payable and/or Customer Service experience preferred.

Skills and abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to interact with all levels of management.

  • Express self-motivation and initiative

  • Ownership of AP support processes with minimal oversight

  • Ability to manage time in a deadline-oriented environment with speed and accuracy.

  • Must demonstrate and maintain and extremely high regard for confidential and sensitive information.

  • Ability to identify barriers, business trends and escalate to operations.

  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks while setting priorities and working independently.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with facilities, teammates, and external vendors.
