Accounts Payable & Purchasing Clerk

Job Description:

We are looking for an Accounts Payable & Purchasing Clerk to join our team in Chanute, KS. You will work on a fast-paced team of individuals who provide administrative accounting and purchasing support to our facilities.

Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable:

• Generate, maintain, and reconcile all accounts payable records

• Process and mail/deposit accounts payable payments

• Scan and file all payable records

• Communicate professionally with accounts payable contacts by phone and email

• Other duties as assigned by the leadership team

Purchasing:

• Generate, maintain, and reconcile purchase orders

• Complete receiving tasks, and ensure the accuracy of material receipts

• Communicate with vendors by phone and email

• Other duties as assigned by the leadership team

Required Qualifications:

• Proficient in Excel (functions, data movement, etc.)

• Great written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Analytical and numerical skills

• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

• Proficient office skills involving using a computer and adding machine calculator

Preferred Qualifications:

• An associate's degree in a related field

• Prior experience in an accounting role

• Prior experience in a manufacturing setting

• Knowledge of GL accounting processes
