  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in business, finance, or related field.


  • 8+ years of accounts payable experience.


  • None required.

Responsibilities Develops, guides and facilitates the direction of the Accounts Payable function, including plans for long-term resource needs, cross functional coverage, and departmental needs to enact accurate and efficient operations. Responsible for AP vendor management, including effectively identifying vendor payment needs, proactively contacting vendors, identifying and rectifying late fees or discount opportunities, and negotiating terms where applicable.

Ensure systems are utilized and working effectively. Lead Accounts Payable projects as the Subject Matter Expert. Identify gaps in processes and recommend solutions for efficiencies.

Develop, own, and enhance policies and procedures, including automation, to meet business needs and improve overall effectiveness of the Accounts Payable function. Develop and maintain an Accounts Payable reporting package for management distribution and generate ad hoc reporting as needed. Understand Accounts Payable Supervisor processes to serve as back up, if needed, but remain out of the day-to-day processing on a routine basis.

Encourage, support, and build team camaraderie. Communicates with internal and external professionals, including executives, on a daily basis. Handles confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.

Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations. Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations. Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.

Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis. Must be able to handle stress with professionalism. Must be able to manage large volume of email while effectively executing other job responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned.

This position provides operational management to the Accounts Payable shared services team who support hotel properties across North America and Canada. This leader will coach and develop the Accounts Payable staff while collaborating within the Procure to Pay team. The Accounts Payable Manager ensures timely and accurate processing of all invoices and payments by instituting best practices. This position actively participates in developing process improvements, and ensuring business process mapping is up to date. The Accounts Payable Manager reports to the Senior Accounts Payable Manager. Job Specific * Assigns and monitors the daily operations of all accounts payable activity to ensure Key Performance Indicators are met daily resulting in achievement of all Service Level Agreements. * Drives leadership from within the team to improve the efficiency of the accounts payable functions with prioritization of departmental timelines and duties. * Ensures all self-audits are completed in a timely manner. * Manages 1099 and B Notice processes to completion. * Works closely with P2P Leadership Team to implement best practices. * Holds accountability for the work of the Accounts Payable staff including training and ensuring company policies are followed. * Maintains a listing of all compliance requirements for Accounts Payable with associated deadlines and ensures all deadlines are met. * Develops strong relationships with property leaders, internal management teams and external suppliers to ensure needs are met. * Regular attendance in conformance with standards * May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs * Required to attend all training sessions and meetings * Ability to perform "Physical Requirements" as explained below * Other duties as assigned General * Ability to work cooperatively with others. * Ability to maintain confidentiality. * Ability to read, write and speak English effectively. * Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally. * Ability to work effectively, maintain composure and make decisions in stressful situations. * Ability to organize workload, adapt quickly to change, and deliver under the pressure of deadlines. * Ability to perform both standard and intermediate spreadsheet functions using Microsoft Excel. * Proficiency in windows-based computer programs to include e-mail, internet and word processing applications. * Strong computer skills and ability to learn new computer applications. * General knowledge of mathematics and accounting principles.
