The Accounts Payable Manager oversees Huron's accounts payable department and ensures the efficient and accurate processing of invoices, check requests, and internal expense reports. This position ensures that Huron's accounts payable and employee expense policies and procedures align with the company's best practices and enforces compliance with established policies and procedures. The AP manager will also lead projects related to accounts payable system upgrades, implementations and other process/automation improvements.
The Accounts Payable Manager will:
Manage the day to day operations of Huron's AP functions, including expense reimbursement, vendor payments and wire transfers
Supervise the workflow and performance of the Accounts Payable team members, including providing ongoing performance feedback and participating in the annual staff performance evaluation process
Troubleshoot and resolve complex payment and vendor issues
Manage the AP month end close process and quarterly and annual auditor requests pertaining to AP
Ensure vendor and employee expense payments are paid in accordance with company policies
Manage and develop team, including those in remote locations
Lead projects related to accounts payable system upgrades, implementations and other process/automation improvements
Establish and implement new standard operating procedures and departmental policies as needed
Work closely with various corporate departments (including treasury, facilities, IT, HR, etc.) and consulting operations teams
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or business
At least seven (7) years of accounts payable work experience, including at least five (5) years managing an accounts payable department
Advanced knowledge of accounts payable processes and best practices
Professional services/management consulting industry experience is preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing to all levels of management with clarity and precision

Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
Occasional travel may be required (1 3 times per year)
