This position is responsible for reviewing invoices for accuracy, entering the invoices into the financial system, and processing payments to vendors. The clerk is also responsible for communicating with internal and external clients and vendors in order to maintain up to date statements. This is not an entry level role, and does require some experience in AP. It is a hybrid role, with one day a week in our St. Albans, VT headquarters, and the option to be remote the remaining days.

Job Responsibilities

  • Process incoming vendor invoices, including verifying and classifying data

  • Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures

  • Reconcile vendors accounts and monthly vendor statements and investigate any discrepancies

  • Understand the chart of accounts and cost centers

  • Understand compliance issues around accounts payable processes (W-9's, sales tax, etc.)

  • Process electronic filing of all documentation

  • Cross-train in additional responsibilities.

  • Performs additional duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Prior Accounting experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft office products (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook), and Adobe.

  • Accurate filing and data entry skills - keyboard and number pad.

Predominately sedentary light office position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required (67% - 100% of the workday).
