Job Description:

  • Part Time (3 Days a week)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Match vendor invoices with purchase orders

  • Resolve discrepancies between invoices and purchase orders

  • Post invoice data for accounts payable

  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payment status

  • File and maintain all posted vendor payments with support documents

VIEW JOBS 7/26/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-10-24T00:00 GENERAL PURPOSE Under general supervision, receives, stores, and disposes of evidence and property held by the Police Department; maintains records of evidence and property held; and performs related duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. Other duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, either orally or in writing. * Receives, classifies, indexes, and stores property, evidence and other materials related to police investigations and lost or stolen property, including money, firearms, evidence, seized property, and narcotics; with proper authorizations, releases property, money, firearms, and other materials to police and court personnel, owners and other parties. * Stores narcotics, firearms, and hazardous materials in their proper assigned facilities. * Transports evidence, property, narcotics and other materials to court. * Answers inquiries by telephone and in person from the public, law enforcement agencies, attorneys and court personnel regarding the status and disposition of property and evidence. * Maintains chain of evidence records involving property; may testify in court regarding the disposition and control of property items. * Disposes of or destroys narcotics, nuisance weapons and illegal materials, as authorized and ordered. * Assists in the conduct of auctions to dispose of unclaimed property. * Maintains computerized and manual records of property, firearms, cash, narcotics and other materials stored in the evidence and property section. * Maintains storage areas in a neat, orderly, and clean condition. * Operates vans and other vehicles to transport property and evidence. QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES Knowledge of: Methods and procedures for receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing and safeguarding property; safety techniques for handling and storing firearms, narcotics and other dangerous or hazardous items and materials; federal, state and local laws, regulations and policies pertaining to the handling and disposal of firearms, narcotics and evidence, including the maintenance of chain of evidence records; safety practices involved in the handling of body fluids and other potentially hazardous items and materials; safe work methods and safety regulations pertaining to a storeroom or warehousing facility. Ability to: Safely handle and store firearms, narcotics, and evidential property; perform basic mathematical calculations; understand and follow oral and written instructions; estimate necessary materials and equipment to complete assignments; exercise independent judgment and initiative without close supervision; prepare clear and comprehensive records and reports; read and interpret laws, regulations, manuals, and other materials; establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and others encountered in the course of the work. Education: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent Training/Experience: Three years of general office/clerical or paraprofessional experience relating to law enforcement or criminal justice. Licenses/Certificates/and Special Requirements: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class C California driver's license, an acceptable driving record and evidence of insurability. Qualified applicants will undergo a complete, comprehensive, POST approved Background Investigation including a writing sample, live scan and Polygraph Examination. Upon completion of the background investigation, applicants may be invited to an Administrative Interview.
