Role Purpose Statement

Responsible for reviewing bills from vendors for accuracy in preparation of payment processing.

Main Accountabilities

Conduct daily reconciliation of invoices and purchase orders; research and resolve issues as needed
Assist with month-end accruals
Prepare quick-pay requests and forward to headquarters for processing
Assist with miscellaneous finance functions as needed
Complete other clerical responsibilities when needed
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Support our e commerce business and fulfillment in operations
Support our airline catering business

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
One to three years accounts payable and/or applicable clerical experience
Verbal/Written communication skills
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Analytical skills and a strong attention to detail
Strong math skills (%s, ratios, fractions)
Strong organizational skills
Problem solving skills; ability to make independent decisions.
Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Must be able to work in extreme temperatures

Your primary responsibility will be to issue employee payments, considering deductions and withholdings. You’ll prepare payroll schedules and records and you’ll contribute to various accounting tasks, such as updating payroll files and processing weekly invoices. To succeed in this role, you must have strong mathematical skills and knowledge of national and regional laws on payroll and taxes. This position requires strong accounts payable operations evaluation and management, broad knowledge of accounts payable processes including: research, analysis and reporting, planning, and managing performance objectives. Key Performance Elements * General Accounting - responsible for general ledger accounting, including monthly close, balance sheet reconciliations, reserves, and financial reporting related to AP operations * Build team member capabilities through objective setting and development, cultivating an environment of performance and accountability. * Interact with upper management and external customers on a regular basis as well as other internal customer departments to integrate solutions that meet the company's goals both financially and operationally * Improve AP procedures, processes, and staff productivity by monitoring department metrics against published benchmarks and assessment against AP best practices * Provide excellent customer service and develop / maintain strong relationships with different business unit finance organizations, including the respective CFO and VP of Finance * Collaborate with other Finance Team members to maintain workflow, documentation, and systems to support accurate financial reporting, including tax preparation and monthly financial statements * Strong leader who can influence and lead initiatives within the company, and manage and motivate a team of 30 associates * Develop an environment of constant process improvement that results in definable projects that are delivered timely and result in cost savings to the entire organization * Facilitate and bridge gaps between the areas of Finance, Accounting, IT, Strategy and Operations * Develop, recommend, and implement all strategy relating to Financial Shared Services functions * Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget * Ensure proper internal controls are in place and are consistently monitored * Ability to organize and prioritize on demand requests * Strong accounting background and analytical skills * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Excellent negotiation skills * Adapt to changing demands in a fast pace environment Requirements Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: * Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business or Related Field - or equivalent experience * 10 years' prior related experience, preferably with a multi-location operation * 10 years leading and developing diverse teams * Experience with accounts payable systems, payroll systems, and processes * Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Products * Proficient in the use of Excel and AP systems
