An excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified accountant to join our Group Finance team in Jersey.
Purpose of job
To join the Group Financial Accounting team that is primarily responsible for the Jersey regulated businesses within the JTC Group, as well as the consolidated monthly management results of JTC PLC and the preparation of the consolidated Group interim and year-end financial statements.
A minimum of 1-2 years post qualification experience, preferably in the following areas:
UK GAAP and IFRS
Accounting for Business Combinations
Preparation of Financial Statements
Main Responsibilities and Duties
To be responsible for the preparation of the monthly management accounts for large Jersey regulated entities within the Group
Prepare monthly regulatory reports such as ANLA calculations to ensure compliance with JFSC requirements.
To be responsible for the preparation of year-end financial statements for Jersey regulated entities that report under Financial Reporting Standard 102.
Responsible for running the audits of Jersey regulated entities, liaising with auditors on accounting and reporting issues and facilitating resolutions to queries to ensure that filing deadlines are met.
Responsible for liaising with external tax providers with regards to Company Income Tax returns, ensuring that filing deadlines are met.
To assist with the consolidation of the monthly management results for JTC PLC, adhering to strict internal reporting deadlines.
Contribute towards the preparation of both the interim and annual financial statements for JTC PLC, ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards.
Involvement in both the interim review and year-end audit of the consolidated Group, being a key contact for auditors and managing the departments audit deliverables.
To assist with the impairment modelling of Goodwill and Customer Contracts.
Responsible for the preparation of the quarterly compliance reporting on the Group's loan facility.
Develop an understanding of new International Financial Reporting Standards, assessing their impact on the Group results and implementing any required changes.
Provide support to more junior members of the department on the preparation of financial statements and complex accounting.
