Parkwest Casino 580 is looking for an Accounting/Audit Supervisor to perform the day to day processing of compliance documentation, filing and transactions to ensure that the casino cage operations are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner. The Accounting/Audit Supervisor will lead cage employees by enforcing established policies and procedures all the while demonstrating exemplary customer service to our guests. As Supervisor you will ensure that the cage's daily accounting functions runs smoothly.


  • Provide strong leadership to cultivate an environment where team members demonstrate pride, commitment to their profession and to the Casino, teamwork, and our core values.

  • Ensure that the Gaming Cage is run in a manner that exemplifies our core values, meets established quality standards, and is in compliance with applicable regulations and requirements.

  • Hire and manage assigned team members and use resources in a respectful and fiscally responsible manner.

  • Ensure that team members have the proper tools and training to effectively and safely perform their jobs.

  • Responsible for ensuring day-to-day compliance with Title 31 regulations.

  • Email daily paperwork to accounting department including deposit slips and logs, ASAI transactions and overflow bank log.

  • Review daily cage balancing sheets for overs/shorts.

  • Reconcile accounts in a timely manner.

  • Reconciles bank statements by comparing statements with general ledger.

  • Other duties may include, but are not limited to, maintaining proper back up files for research and reference; producing financial statements and preparing reports and summaries for supervisors and managers; ensuring the completeness and accuracy of data on accounts and documents, i.e., logs; reconciling computer reports with operating reports; checking figures, postings, and documents to ensure that they are correct, mathematically accurate, and properly coded; correcting and noting errors, etc.


  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Experience with automated accounting systems

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to be accurate and have attention to detail

  • Ability to work cooperatively with staff

  • Ability to exercise a high degree of professionalism

  • Ability to ensure all confidential data is maintained securely and handled in a discreet fashion


  • 2+ years of prior accounting experience

  • 2+ years of prior supervisory/management experience

  • High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent. Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Open availability. Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.


  • Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.

  • Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test, criminal background and credit check.

  • Must be able to obtain CA gambling establishment city employee permit and State Key License.

You will independently perform research, preparation, analysis, maintenance, and review of highly complex institutional cost accounting issues and financial information. This position will be in the Budget Operations Group, Cost Accounting & Indirect Analysis Team in the Office of the CFO Essential Duties * Direct and participate in the analysis of accounting practice changes, development of change proposals, and cost impact statements in accordance with Cost Accounting Standard (CAS) requirements * Prepare comprehensive written analysis and interpretation of highly complex financial issues, including analysis of policy, guidelines, and other regulatory issues and negotiate complex proposals for accounting changes. * Formulate, communicate and implement decisions within scope of designated authority and provide extensive and complex financial and business process consultation and improvement expertise. * Perform self-assessments and serve as the point-of-contact representing the organization in financial audits and preparing organizational responses to findings. Establish, implement and communicate policies, procedures and processes with organizational and institutional impact in response to DOE/NNSA/LLNS and other federal financial laws, orders, and guidelines; serve as an expert with regard to the interpretation and application of financial standards, policies, and procedures. * Revise sections of the Laboratory's Cost Accounting Standards Board (CASB) Disclosure Statement in accordance with CAS and LLNL's financial policies and procedures. * Provide leadership to financial staff, setting direction and assuring proper execution of tasks. Represent department and/or directorate on working groups/committees and lead key efforts/projects to develop unique solutions to highly complex problems. * Foster effective relationships with customers, colleagues, and programmatic and financial managers throughout the Laboratory, NNSA, and LFO, interacting with high-level management both internal and external to the Laboratory. * Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent combination of related experience, education, and training in the finance/accounting field. * Extensive experience applying expert analytical skills to research, interpret, analyze, compile, and present highly complex financial data and information. Comprehensive knowledge of and expertise performing financial functions, including the use of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS). * Experience performing self-assessments and representing an organization in audits and/ or experience with the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA). * Extensive experience with advanced decision making, problem-solving and analytical skills to independently solve highly complex issues requiring mature judgment, discretion and tact and experience negotiating desirable outcomes. Experience leading others effectively. * Advanced computer and software application skills and expert level experience in the development and maintenance of financial spreadsheet and databases containing advanced functions; including experience in utilizing commercial and/or institutional financial tools. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills to effectively explain, negotiate, persuade and build consensus among diverse stakeholders; demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel, both internal and external to the Laboratory.
