The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Administrative Services is recruiting for an Accounting Technician 2 located in Juneau!

What you will be doing:

This position performs professional accounting functions which inclue auditing, analyzing, reconciling, summarizing, and reporting financial data. This position provides insight in establishing internal controls, and provides insight to existing accounting functions for license revenue. The incumbent assists with the management of license vendors, and accounting and payment of commissions to license vendors.

The working conditions you can expect:

This position is located in the Juneau Headquarters building with access to ample, unrestricted parking. The incumbent can expect daily interaction with the DAS team and frequent interaction with division staff and outside vendors via teleconference, TEAMS, and in person.

We are looking for an individual with the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Accounting Operations: Knowledge of general ledger accounting and reconciliation techniques, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and disbursements. Knowledge & Importance of Auditing, Analyzing & Critical thinking.

  • Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

  • Office and Computer Skills: Uses computers, office equipment, software applications (such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat), and databases to accomplish work.

  • Customer Service: Anticipates and meets the needs of both internal and external customers. Delivers high-quality products and services; is committed to continuous improvement.

  • Self-Management: Sets well-defined and realistic personal goals; displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner; works with minimal supervision; is motivated to achieve; demonstrates responsible behavior.

One year of entry technical level accounting or clerical bookkeeping experience.

Substitutions:

Certification as an Accounting Technician from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience.

Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month) if it includes at least 6 semester/8 quarter hours in Accounting.REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
