Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes general knowledge and skill in a discipline area (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Resources, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) to support team and/or department objectives. Generally works under close supervision or within well-established guidelines to complete routine tasks.

Job Summary

As a member of the Financial Systems Support (FSS) team, the Analyst is responsible for the development and maintenance of MVCI reports. This position will interact with the Finance & Accounting areas as well as other departments in the organization to ensure reporting needs are met. Primary responsibilities include developing and supporting enterprise reports using the Cognos Suite of tools. The Analyst duties also include data analysis, troubleshooting, bug analysis, development, testing and documentation. Other responsibilities include migration control, change request and processes documentation.

Expected Contributions

  • Performs the following types of basic tasks: analysis, auditing, budgeting, forecasting, programming, research, report generation, and software integration.

  • utilizing technical knowledge and skills to enhance business processes.

  • contributing to department/unit budget as appropriate (i.e., input, following guidelines, etc).

  • Demonstrates an awareness of personal strengths and areas for improvement and acts independently to improve and increase skills and knowledge.

  • Performs other duties as appropriate.

Expected Contributions

  • Responsible for gathering requirements, developing and writing reports for the various Finance & Accounting and other functional areas of the organization. Work in a multi ledger environment and support multicurrency reporting.

  • Assist in the organization of the MVCI reporting inventory. Document existing reports, including audience, frequency and report information. Identify redundant reporting and opportunities for consolidation.

  • Transition PeopleSoft nVision and query reports to the Cognos Suite of tools.

  • Work with FIM to resolve reporting issues and participate in system testing for patches and fixes for reporting systems.

  • Develop and test corporate reports from the MVCI data warehouse.

  • Demonstrate the ability to learn complex business processes and share experience and knowledge with the business.

  • Must have an understanding of relational databases. Will utilize Oracle SQL to analyze ledger data and SQL Server for financial data.

  • Coordinate, and deliver report training materials for the end user. Maintain documentation, manuals and user information.

  • Participate in the team monitor rotation. Monitor the department support mailbox for domestic and international reporting needs. Address issues and utilize team expertise for additional support.

Usually a professional position with general knowledge in a discipline (i.e., Accounting, Human Resources, Information Resources). College degree and/or related experience typically required.

  • Intermediate level Microsoft Excel abilities
