Verifies and poststransactions to journals, ledgers and other records; Prepares statements,invoices and vouchers; Handles balancing and reconciliations; May specialize inone area of the accounting function Job Grade 06

ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES include thefollowing. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Processes voucherdocumentation by direct General Ledger entry.

  • Completes dataentry in spreadsheet and word processing systems to assist in preparation andcompilation of reports for management.

  • Prepares invoicesfor entry into the accounts payable system; Ensures all approvals have beencompleted; Prepares accounts payable checks for mailing to vendors; Serves asbackup to the accounts payable clerk.

  • Balance cashadvances.

  • Orderscurrency/coin for retail branches through Fedline and maintain and balance

Brinks ATM and Order GL's.

  • Reconcilesvarious General Ledger accounts to month end trial balance and maintains all

General Ledger reconciliation procedures.

  • Processes depositreclassification model (CETO) daily and prepares FR2900 weekly for filing withthe Federal Reserve.

  • Ensures the inprocess clearing General Ledger and on-us check clearing General Ledger areproperly reconciled on a daily basis.

  • Monitor andreconcile branch vault and ATM cash General Ledger accounts includingcoordinating the resolution of differences and processing adjustments withbranch and department personnel.

  • Reconcile savings bonds on a daily basis.

  • Serve as a backup to reconcile check clearing account,office checks sand processing of stop payment on checks.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of Excel and Wordrequired; General bookkeeping and/or basic accounting knowledge desirable


High school diploma orG.E.D.; Understanding of bookkeeping procedures; Minimum of one to two years ofexperience


Ability to read andcomprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; Ability towrite simple correspondence; Ability to effectively present information inone-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and otheremployees of the organization


Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, ordiagram form
