As an Accounting Specialist Senior within PNC's Finance organization, you may be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Philadelphia, PA, Cleveland, OH, Gaithersburg, MD, Tampa, FL, Birmingham, AL or Atlanta, GA.

For this role, SQL, data analysis, proficient in Excel, and attention to detail is preferred! Also management experience is preferred, but not required.

  • Daily and quarterly production of Single Counterparty Credit Limits (SCCL) reports

  • Reconcilement of daily and quarterly schedules

  • Use of SQL to analyze data

  • Work closely with the Technology team to identify defects, resolves issues, coordinate releases, and test defects/system changes

  • Identify opportunities for automation and work with Technology and management to implement solutions

  • Communicate information to Senior Management

For this role, SQL and technical experience is a MUST.

Job Description

  • Provides accounting, reporting and analytical expertise in support of a business function or business unit.

  • Provides specialized accounting, financial reporting, accounting research and control oversight for the company.

  • Creates accounting memoranda and various specialized reports for internal and external use.

  • Completes month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities related to foreign exchange, cash management and tax, and subsidiary regulatory reporting, including preparing the appropriate audit work papers for such activities.

  • Supports and assists accounting staff in the development of their professional skills.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience. Certifications are often desired. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Preparing to go public via an IPO or a SPAC merger can be a complex and time-consuming process, and companies must address financial reporting, technical accounting, internal controls, systems, and auditing considerations to prepare for going public. A target company in a SPAC merger will need to prepare itself for being a public company oftentimes within a few months, which is a shorter timeline compared to a traditional IPO for substantially the same preparation, due diligence, prospectus-drafting and SEC engagement and ongoing oversight. Public company execution and public company sustainment services for both IPO and SPAC mergers should cover cross-functional topics such as: technical accounting, financial reporting and close, finance effectiveness, financial planning and analysis, tax matters, internal controls and internal audit, human resources and compensation, investor relations, enterprise risk management, technology and cybersecurity, among other things.
