Job Purpose:

Responsible for completing timely and accurate accounts receivable and general accounting tasks in support of the organization's financial operations. Acts as a point of contact for managers with questions regarding Accounting processes and procedures and may be asked to complete additional tasks as needed to support department functions.


Essential Duties:

  • Prepare bank deposits, apply cash receipts, and research and reconcile posting variances.

  • Process customer refund requests that are received from cash receipts from the facilities.

  • Responsible for the preparation of mandated quarterly reports for agencies. Identifies trends to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Verify accuracy of commission calculations and submit for payment.

  • Review corporate credit card charges and determine proper GL coding.

  • Process and post daily check deposits and ach/wire deposits.

  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Research and process debit & credit memos for assigned accounts.

  • Assist external auditors with Company annual audits by obtaining supporting documentation as requested.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Organization skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow up

  • Intermediate Excel skills

  • Ability to interface with multiple levels of management

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and quickly adapt to change

  • Knowledgeable of all accounting aspects with regard to the AR and revenue process.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • 3-5 years relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Great Plains Experience

Physical Requirements:

Standing, sitting, walking, speaking, listening, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and manipulating tools, typing, using peripheral computer tools. May be required to lift up to 25 pounds.

Reviewing new hire paperwork, accurately entering new hires personal information into the system for payroll and tax purposes, performing internal audits of background files, and maintaining open communication with all departments on background policies and procedures. Responsibilities * Assist with receiving, reviewing and tracking all new hire, rehire, and transfer paperwork. Help to ensure timely and accurate processing of background checks. Fingerprinting and processing of new hires. Constant contact with vendors to ensure accurate information was received and returned to us. * Ensure accuracy and that all paperwork is in compliance with regulations from FAA and TSA. * Enter cleared employees in the system accurately and in a timely manner. * Assist with conducting audits of Background files and with Safety Department to ensure external audit compliance. Assist with internal and external audits. * Scheduling new hires for pre-employment drug testing. * Use reports and metrics to verify that all active employee and contractor files are accounted for and are in compliance with FAA and TSA. Use reports and metrics to ensure all terminated employee and contractor files are in appropriate designated location. * Assist with E-Verifying all new hire I-9 Forms in US DHS database. * Contact stations Managers and Supervisors regarding new hire paperwork received and inform them on what is needed. * May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate. (e.g. emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments.) Qualifications * High School Diploma or GED. * Two (2) years HR experience. * Able to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously. * Strong knowledge of computers to create and maintain databases, reports and documentation. * Flexibility to meet changing deadlines under pressure. * Strong organizational skills to prioritize work and complete assignments on-time. * Self-starter and ability to perform daily duties under low supervision. * Thorough knowledge of Microsoft products such as Excel, Outlook and Word. * Flexible to travel to various Spirit locations including overnight stays. * Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration and Transportation Security Administration requirements and regulations preferred. * Experience with E-Verify and Sterling Infosystems preferred. * Please be advised that you will be asked to complete a required assessment to be considered for this position.
